Justo Vera-Ayestaran is a kinetic-conceptual artist and architect with over four decades of creative experience. His work lives at the intersection of architecture, environmental psychology, design, and art, and is distinguished by its ability to transform physical spaces and emotional environments through rhythm, chromatic energy, and inspirational messaging.
Born in Venezuela and based in Miami for nearly thirty years, he has studied at several international institutions, including the Central University of Venezuela, Nanjing University (China), and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain).
His works have been exhibited in North America, South America, and Europe, including at Art Basel-Miami 2023 (Spectrum), the BIARCO Biennial 2024 in Alicante (Spain), SUMARTE 2023 and 2024 in Miami, and SUMEX 2025 (Mexican Cultural Institute and Interamerican Designer Association). He was a finalist at Swiss Art Expo 2023 in Zürich and served as a juror at the Wynwood Biennial 2021 in Miami. His pieces are held in private collections across the Americas and Europe.
His artistic practice is based on Chromatic Induction techniques and conceptual narrative, inviting the viewer to establish a dialogue between perception, emotion, and spirituality. Each work is a celebration of human energy, meaningful encounters, and the power to move forward with purpose.
MY STATEMENT
In my search and pursuit of an authentic expression and personal contribution to the creative world, I decided to use the modern techniques of Chromatic Induction and Movement developed by the great kinetic masters, but daring with a language that transcends the abstract and the geometric, to communicate in my work concepts beyond the physical world our five senses capture and, penetrate our vast spiritual and philosophical scenario in search of emotions.
In this way, if the emergence of the Kinetic movement managed to incorporate human participation in the created work, allowing it to change as the observer moves, I proposed to take my contribution further by transcending this interaction, which was pleasantly contemplative, but abstract, to enter into a communicational reality. It is like going from a smile and distant greeting to getting closer to chatting with someone you like.
